Young Professional Breakfast Seminar

Norwegian Petroleum Society Oslo division has started work on establishing a Young Professional Network for Oil & Gas / Energy professionals in the Oslo area. Our work started by initiation of the co-operation and collaboration with existing Young Professional networks, associations and societies. We have already organized one Breakfast seminar together with Statoil and Aker Solutions and would kindly invite you to our second meeting this autumn on Monday, 9th of December at Statoil office in Fornebu.
We will be hearing from Hege Marie Norheim, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Statoil. Hege has over 20 years of experience, of which 10 from public sector – two of them as State Secretary in Norway for the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. The remaining 10 from from the industry through Hydro and Statoil where Hege has hold roles as Vice President of Communications, Partner operated licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf at Hydro, Senior Vice President of Reserve and Business Development, Senior Vice President Northern Areas and Senior Vice President Corporate Climate at Statoil. Hege is additionally Member of Board at Torma Systems, Det Norske Teatret with previous roles as Board Member at Nordea Bank, NextGenTel and the Norwegian Academy of Music. Hege has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universität St. Gallen and a Masters from Norwegian School of Economics.

Hege will introduce to us the topic on Sustainability in our industry and involvement/role of Young Professionals.

Our second speaker will be Mr. Gunnar Myhre from Center for International Climate and Environmental Research in Oslo. Gunnar is one of main authors to the 5th (latest) report on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change regarding the climate scientific basis. Gunnar leads the work of one of the chapters. The thousand-page report based on thousands of studies comes from in total 255 scientists from 39 countries. The first two drafts have received over 50,000 expert commentary. Gunnar’s extensive background and scientific work can be accessed at CICERO website.
