Presentation of the Pil & Bue project development by VNG – “the path and progress towards PDO»
The Pil and Bue development project has matured and progressed through the traditional decision gates since discovery of Pil in April 2014. The decision to pass the Concept Select phase decision gate (DG2) and proceed into Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase was taken in February of 2017. The concept selected is a subsea tie-back to the existing Njord A host facility some 35 km away. The development is challenging and VNG, as operator, is pursuing a multi-disciplinary approach to design a development that is fit for purpose while retaining some flexibility. This presentation will touch on the challenges associated with the development and drainage strategy, well planning, flow assurance and subsea kit implications.
