Martin Wolf: What We’ve Learned – and Have Still to Learn – from the Financial Crisis

18. februar 2015 kl. 17:00 - 18:30

Obs – møtetidspunktet er forandret – møtet starter 18.00

What can the financial crisis teach us about modern economies and economics? What radical reforms will be necessary for a more stable future?

Martin Wolf, chief economics commentator at the Financial Times, and one of the worlds most influential writers on economics, will answer these questions in Oslo on the 18th of February. Based on his latest book «The Shifts and the Shocks», Wolf will present his analysis of the economic course of the last seven years. Wolf identifies the origin of the crisis in the complex interaction between globalization, hugely destabilizing global imbalances and out dangerously fragile financial system, and argues that «further crises seem certain». In his presentation, Wolf will give his view on what the crisis should teach us and what radical reforms will be necessary for a more stable future.
